Hypnotherapy in New Zealand – Structure, Professional Organisations and Schools

There is no official regulation or legislation governing hypnotherapy in New Zealand. In other words, anyone can set themselves up as a hypnotherapist and start practicing immediately.

This highlights the importance of rigorous training and supervision for clinicians as well as professional and ethical self regulation of the profession.

We place a great emphasis on teaching our students exactly how the hypnotherapy framework of New Zealand operates. We don’t want new hypnotherapists to be confused about or distracted by rules and regulations. We provide all the information necessary to make an informed choice about which organisations to join and how, as a hypnotherapist, you fit into the wider structure.
