Christine Walter is absolutely passionate about supporting people to achieve their goals in life, utilising her skills and knowledge along with her own life experiences. She firmly believes that everyone has the answers and resources within to achieve what they want.

As an experienced presenter and being of energetic nature you will find Christine’s training lively and informative. Christine is a real advocate of “learning by doing”. Her training style is inspirational, engaging and energising.

  • Christine has 20 years experience in the recreation industry, initially as a fitness instructor and managing children’s programmes, progressing to staff management and becoming Director of Recreation for a well-known international organisation overseeing several sites with the responsibility of over 300 staff
  • Christine has a thriving Life Coaching and Hypnotherapy practise based in St Heliers.
  • Christine is a Master Practitioner in NLP and Time Line Therapy and has a Diploma in Clinical and Advanced Hypnosis from the NZ School of Professional Hypnotherapy.
  • In her personal life Christine is the mother of two adult children and Jake the dog. She keeps a fit and active lifestyle walking and going to the gym. In 2013 she and her husband spent 8 months travelling to the UK and Europe, including walking the 330km Camino Portuguese from Porto, Portugal to Finisterre on the Spanish West Coast.

  • Daryl completed his hypnotherapy training with the New Zealand School of Professional Hypnotherapy, and also holds a Certificate in Life Coaching from our sister school, New Zealand Life Coaching.
  • Daryl is an extremely talented tutor and practitioner who  brings an abundance of passion and experience to everything he does, especially helping his students in reaching their personal goals.
  • Daryl is experienced in Health Coaching, and is working towards a Bachelor of Natural Medicine. His specialist area of practice is using hypnotherapy to help with health conditions.
  • We are fortunate to have Daryl helping to mark student assignments and help ensure high standards across this area.

Iain is a respected and experienced Hypnotherapist who has been helping clients using hypnosis for over 30 years.

Iain has a strong focus on bringing each individual student up to their true potential. Iain's students see him as kind, supportive and nurturing, as well as extremely knowledgeable and a master of his profession.

Iain completed the Diploma in Advanced & Clinical Hypnosis with Ed Lester at The New Zealand School of Professional of Hypnotherapy, and was one of the first hypnotherapists in New Zealand to achieve the HPD qualification.

Brenda is an experienced and highly respected practitioner in Wellington, New Zealand. She is committed to graduating high level, confident hypnotherapists, who are ready to go into practice with all the confidence and skills that they need.

Brenda's students will tell you that she is an inspirational trainer with a passion and gift for teaching hypnosis. We are proud and fortunate to have her as one of our Wellington Trainers.

Brenda has on more than one occasion been a guest on Mike King's "Nutters Club". She was also recently shortlisted for the 2011 Lesley Pearse New Zealand Women of Courage Award.

Meredith is also currently the President of the New Zealand Association of Professional Hypnotherapists (NZAPH). Meredith is also committed to improving the availability and quality of professional clinical supervision within New Zealand hypnotherapy.

Andrew has been a professional Hypnotherapist since establishing his practice in 2009.

Underlying his training in Clinical, Advanced & Ericksonian Hypnotherapy, Andrew has built upon a firm foundation of healthcare experience, having practiced for 30+ years as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) and Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) in both the UK and NZ.

Andrew’s motivation is to empower people to see that they have choices in life.

Whether those choices are to lose weight, stop smoking or to live without pain, anger, anxiety and fear, Andrew approaches each client as an individual with their own unique needs. He does this through his consultations, classes and workshops in Clinical Hypnotherapy, Life Coaching, SleepTalk & Tai Chi in Wellington & Lower Hutt, plus his online consultancy.

Andrew is also presenter of the Motivation Hour on Hutt Radio 106.1FM

Founder Ed Lester is an experienced and respected hypnotherapist and trainer who has helped many hundreds of private clients to overcome problems and achieve their goals. He believes in giving hypnotherapy students all the tools they need to build a thriving and sustainable hypnotherapy practice in the quickest time possible. He understands that all students' needs and personal experiences are unique and that our training courses must always reflect that diversity. Here are some of Ed's qualifications and achievements:

  • BA in Linguistics and Visual Studies at the University of Central Lancashire.
  • Original hypnosis training with Ursula Markham of the Hypnothink Foundation in 2000.
  • Completed Diploma in Clinical and Advanced Hypnosis with the Washington School in Manchester, UK. Went on to complete 2 years of personal mentoring with Dr Shaun Brookhouse, one of the UK's most respected Hypnosis Trainers and Practitioners.
  • Elevated to Registered Status Membership of the National Council for Hypnotherapy in the UK in July 2002.
  • In 2003 he became a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists in America (the largest and oldest hypnosis organisation in the world).
  • Became a Certified Professional Life Coach in November 2004 through the International Institute of Coaching.
  • Became a Certified Master Practitioner of NLP through the UK Academy of Therapeutic Arts and Sciences in Feb 2003.
  • In 2003 Ed was one of the very first people to be awarded the Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma, the first ever externally accredited professional hypnotherapy qualification in the UK. This was awarded by the NCFE national awarding body.
  • In 2003 Ed became the Principal Trainer for the Oxford Training Centre for the Washington School of Clinical and Advanced Hypnosis. He trained many professional hypnotherapists who now have very successful practices of their own.
  • In 2003 and 2004, Ed was invited to speak at the National Council for Hypnotherapy's annual conference.
  • Ed spent three years studying towards a BSc in Psychology with the UK Open University.
  • As well as private practice and professional training, Ed spent years providing training presentations to private companies and public services including to the UK National Health Service.
  • Ed moved to New Zealand in 2004 and established a thriving hypnotherapy practice in Christchurch.  He founded the NZ School of Professional Hypnotherapy, which has been providing Clinical Hypnosis Diploma courses since 2009.
  • Ed is also the inventor of The Abundance Index
  • Ed also provides hypnotherapy marketing and practice building help for countless other hypnotherapists, coaches and other health and wellness professionals.

As National Training Manager, Sara is your first point of contact for answering any questions and providing information about the course, before your enrolment.  She is always available and happy to chat about how our training options can meet your goals and dreams, and if what we offer is the right fit for you.

Sara completed the Diploma training course in Christchurch and so is ideally placed to share her experience and insight of training with the NZSPH and what it has enabled her to do.

Sara is a clinical hypnotherapist who has a passion for the mind body connection. She is fascinated by the power of the subconscious mind and how we can harness it to make positive changes in our every day lives. Sara originally trained as a primary school teacher in England and taught in both London and New Zealand. She became interested in Hypnosis when she was studying to be a teacher and often used relaxation and visualisation techniques within the classroom setting.

Sara enjoys working with her clients to empower them to overcome the issues that are holding them back including smoking cessation, weight loss, stress and anxiety and phobias. Sara has a particular focus on working with children especially those who are facing long-term illness and works one-on-one with children who are in treatment for cancer as well as leading relaxation and stress management sessions for parents of children with cancer. Her vision is for every person to be empowered to lead healthy, joyful lives free of unnecessary stress and anxiety.

We are delighted to have Sara working alongside us, running all the day-to-day, administrative aspects of the training school. Having attended the Diploma course in Christchurch, Sara is an excellent person to chat with if you are considering enrolling, as she offers valuable insights about her experiences and the benefits of doing this course.

Once you enrolled as a student on one of our courses, Sara will be your first point of contact and will take care of all your questions and requirements as you go through the course.... and beyond!  Her role involves making sure you are in the right place at the right time, with everything you need. She will also organise your certificates, help with getting your assignments marked and anything else that relates to your training journey.

The Professional Diploma Course is run in association with the UK Academy. Although UK academy staff will not be actively involved in the training programs, their input by way of course content and support is pivotal.

Principal Shaun Brookhouse is a Psychotherapist, a Board Certified Hypnotherapist, a Certified Professional Coach, Educator and Author. He is known by many as 'a therapist's therapist'.

He is a MasterTrainer of NLP and a Certified Master Instructor of Hypnotherapy. His skills as an instructor and trainer make him very much in demand internationally at conferences and workshops. His lively and provocative style of lecturing makes training a memorable experience. Managing Director and Vice-Principal Fiona Biddle is a Certified Professional Coach, a Board Certified Hypnotherapist, and a Humanistic Counsellor. She assists her clients on a number of levels regarding better health, well-being, success and fulfilment. Fiona is the Chair of the National Council for Hypnotherapy.
